Ramshila Hill
Sacred hill · Rama (with Sita and Lakshmana); Shiva as Rameshwar / Patalesvara · Gaya, Bihar
Rama is believed to have offered pinda on this hill, so mourners offer pindas here during Pitrapaksh
A hill southeast of Gaya city with the Ramesvara (Patalesvara) temple on top, originally built in 1014 AD and renovated since. The main temple holds Rama, Sita and Lakshmana. There is also a roughly 300-year-old Shiva temple with a foot-tall rock-crystal Shivling and a five-foot Ganesha, and a pavilion built in 1811 where pindas are offered.
